Menopause skincare. Around and beyond menopause, the level of oestrogen and progesterone declines, this hormonal change has a profound affect on the skin and it’s functioning. The epidermis becomes thinner which leads to an increase in skin dryness; lipid production also declines and collagen and elastin synthesis level decrease. Together these changes cause a loss of elasticity, sagging of the skin and the appearance of more pronounced wrinkles.

The visible changes in the skin almost feels like it happens overnight for some women. I recommend getting into a routine of looking after your skin, wear sunscreen daily and make sure to moisturise. The skin might need a richer moisturiser at this time, my top tip is try applying your moisturiser whilst skin is still moist and massage into the face.
