1. Exfoliate your skin
So I’m joined by my lovely model Jess and I have already prepped Jess’ skin so I have cleansed, toned and exfoliated. It’s really important to exfoliate your skin as it stimulates blood supply, bringing fresh cells and blood to the surface. It also helps remove any dry, dead skin cells so it’s going to leave your skin lovely and clean and fresh.
2. Apply moisturiser
Now I’m going to apply moisturiser to Jess’ skin and I’m just doing it in circular motions. It’s got a lovely light texture and really does absorb quickly. I’m just going to allow it 5 – 10 minutes to soak into Jess’ skin before I apply foundation.
3. Apply Dermablend Corrective Fluid Foundation
Foundation comes in several mediums from compacts to liquids to powders and creams. I personally really love the Dermablend Corrective Fluid Foundation because I feel you have great control, it glides on the skin, and you can really build the coverage.
There’s 3 main methods of applying your foundation – with a foundation brush, a sponge or your fingers. I prefer to apply with a foundation brush as it gives you a really even coverage.
So when choosing your correct colour of your foundation, don’t test it on the back of your hand or wrist – you want to test it on your jawline. Your correct shade should simply disappear into your skin. There should be no start or end to it. What I love about the Dermablend Corrective Fluid Foundation is that it has iridescent particles in it, so it doesn’t leave your skin feeling flat – but gives you a radiant, healthy glow.
4. Apply Dermablend Quick Fix Concealer
Now I’m going to use the Dermablend Quick Fix Concealer. I’m actually going to use my fingers and pat it on the eye. The warmth from your fingers will actually help it melt in your foundation.
5. Apply Dermablend Setting Powder
Now I have a flawless canvas to work on, I am going to apply my Dermablend Setting Powder, just to seal the foundation into place. What I love about this powder is that it really extends the life of your foundation. This is actually the perfect base for which to apply blusher and eye shadow and still has that lovely radiant glow – it doesn’t look flat at all.
So there are my top tips for applying Dermablend foundation.
