Looking for a quick beauty fix for those mornings when you’ve only got five minutes to spare? Our simple three-step makeup routine has you covered!
Step 1: Prep your skin
As soon as you roll out of bed, your first instinct should be to cleanse your face. Eliminating impurities and removing excess oil is crucial to ensuring your foundation goes on smoothly, so don’t skip this step. For normal and sensitive skin, Vichy Pureté Thermale offers a wide range of cleansers in differing formats from micellar waters to cleansing milks, all created for even the most sensitive skin types. If you suffer from imperfections or recurring blemishes, opt for a refreshing gel cleanser, like Normaderm’s Purifying Cleansing Gel, enriched with spot-fighting actives, such as salicylic acid. Then apply your day cream, ideally one featuring SPF such as Slow Âge Fluid Moisturiser which contains SPF25. Let it sink in before heading on to step 2 - nobody wants streaky foundation.
Step 2: A flawless base
Next, it’s time to prep your skin for foundation. A mattifying primer will help to minimise enlarged pores and imperfections, creating a smooth base for makeup. If your foundation has a liquid texture, such as Vichy Dermablend [3D CORRECTION] Foundation, dab small dots of product on your cheeks, face and chin before blending out with a sponge or brush for an even and natural looking finish. If you’ve opted for a powder foundation such as new Vichy Dermablend Covermatte Compact Powder Foundation, then apply a small amount to a cosmetic sponge before working it into skin from the nose outwards, using a circular motion.
Step 3: Spot correction
If you struggle with redness or dark circles, apply your concealer on top of your foundation to target specific problem areas. To achieve a flawless finish, blend out with your ring or little finger, or use a brush to disguise any blemishes or spots. Choose a cream concealer with a waxy finish that won’t flake or look cakey toward the end of the day such as Vichy Dermablend SOS Cover Stick concealer which is water, sweat and smudge resistant and provides up to 16 hours of full coverage, with SPF 25.
Step 4: Powder, powder
Finally, set your face with a setting powder to ensure your makeup stays in place all day. Pressed powders are great for targeting specific areas prone to oiliness or greasiness, while mineral powders can be dusted all over to make sure your foundation won’t budge. Dermablend’s Setting Powder is a great option to set your make-up. The translucent powder both extends the hold of Dermablend’s make-up for an additional 4 hours and provides a matte, natural looking finish. Don’t skip this step if you’re looking to avoid touchups, or opt for a pressed powder format that offers all-day coverage that won’t slip and slide. A slick of lipstick and a few swipes of mascara, and there you go - five-minute flawless!
