I usually layer it on top of my full face of physical suncream on nose/forehead/cheeks as extra protection, then I use it for a top up as the day goes on. I've also used it alone as it goes on really smoothly, with no sunburns ever, even on holiday when the UV index is high and I'm in the sun all day. Super effective, doesn't break me out or make me oily. Invisible and works with makeup. I'm not sure if it's waterproof, however, as I always reapply after swimming.
