PeriMenopause
WHAT IS PERIMENOPAUSE? The time leading up to the Menopause when people can experience irregular periods or other menopausal symptoms. Perimenopause typically lasts 4 to 8 years. WHAT ARE THE SYMPTOMS OF PERIMENOPAUSE? There are many symptoms associated with perimenopause, not every person will experience symptoms and the experience of symptoms will be different from person to person. Whilst this is not an exhaustive list, symptoms may include: Hot flushes, Night sweats, Loss of sleep, Anxiety, Dizziness, Fatigue, Memory loss, Mind fog, Depression, Headaches, Recurrent UTIs, Joint stiffness, aches and pains, Reduced concentration and Heavy periods. HOW MAY PERIMENOPAUSE AFFECT YOUR SKIN? At perimenopause, due to shifts in oestragen levels and associated collagen production decline, the skin can become increasingly dry, tight and irritated. Skin loses overall elasticity and plumpness, causing skin to sag with fine lines and wrinkles appearing more pronounced, particularly around the mouth and eyes.
